Results of the first gaming day of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice Major 2019

Add as a Preferred Source

The results of yesterday's gaming were shocking for all the spectators that were watching the events of IEM Katowice Major 2019. Some favorites performed terribly but some outsiders showed a brilliant game. The reason of that is more likely to be Bo1. We want to remind you that elimination and matches for getting to The New Legends Stage will be held in the Bo3 format, so today's placement in the tournament bracket can become completely different.

Result 2-0

TYLOO

The first place in the tournament bracket is taken by the players from TYLOO and they do deserve it. They managed to win over a strong team that is Vitality by the score of 16-8 and defeated Cloud9 by the score of 16-3.

NRG Esports

NRG overplayed Winstrike and Vici Gaming, two outsiders of the group, so this result can't be named as unexpected.

ENCE eSports

The Finnish played the first match against Team Spirit, winning there and after that they faced with players from G2 Esports. Winning over both of them, ENCE finished the first day with the result of 2-0 and are now preparing for the match against Renegades, where they will try to make it to The New Legends Stage.

Renegades

The Australian team overplayed two strong collectives, AVANGAR and Ninjas in Pyjamas. They had a difficult task — they had to win over ENCE. In case of their triumph, Renegades will provide themselves with a slot at The New Legends Stage.

Result 1-1

Ninjas in Pyjamas

NiP got a win over the cleared outsider that is FURIA Esports and lost against Renegades. Nothing special.

Vega Squadron

Vega Squadron failed at the match against G2 Esports, but won over their countrymen from Team Spirit.

Winstrike

At first, Winstrike played against NRG with a failure, losing the competition with the Americans, but managed to rehabilitate at the match with the Swedish winning over Fnatic.

Vici Gaming

Vici Gaming won over Fnatic sensationally, but couldn't do anything at the match against NRG Esports.

Team Vitality

The French disappointed their fans as they could have won two matches instead of one. Because of the fact that they didn't overplay TYLOO, NBK- and his teammates have a statistics of 1-1. At the second meeting they defeated Gtayhound Gaming

AVANGAR

AVANGAR managed to win only eight rounds at the first match against the Australian opponents, Renegades, losing the game in the end. At the second meeting they managed to rehabilitate and win over FURIA Esports.

G2 Esports

G2 defeated Vega Squadron, but couldn't oppose ENCE eSports. Here nothing can surprise us as well. G2 Esports will keep on fighting, having one win and one loss in their statistics.

Cloud9

C9 close the category of participants that have one win and one loss. As for the Americans, they won over an outsider of the group, Grayhound Gaming, but lost playing with TYLOO.

Result 0-2

Grayhound Gaming

The Australians couldn't win either ENCE, or Vitality, winning 28 rounds at these two matches in total. The collective played well and managed to give opposition, but it wasn't enough to get to the category 1-1 or 2-0.

Team Spirit

This results is not surprising for Spirit. At the first meeting, they were to play against the clear favorite of the group, ENCE Esports, and at the second they were performing with their countrymen from, Vega Squadron.

Fnatic

Fnatic are owners of the title “The main disappointment of the first gaming day”. The Swedish, being the biggest favorites, lost against the weakest (according to the participants) collective, Vici Gaming. At the second Bo1 match against Winstrike, they also weren't able to do anything.
