Tomorrow, July 5, IEM Cologne 2022 will start - the last major championship before a month-long break for rest. The best teams on the planet will converge in Cologne, where they will compete for a total prize pool of $1,000,000. Format of IEM Cologne 2022

The championship will be divided into three stages:

• Play-In stage: July 5-6 (site - Hyatt Regency Cologne).
  
• Group stage: July 7-10 (site - Hyatt Regency Cologne).
• Playoffs: July 15-17 (site - LANXESS arena).

Eight teams will advance from the Play-In stage to the IEM Cologne 2022 group stage (four from the upper bracket and four from the lower bracket). As part of the group stage of the championship, eight teams will perform that turned out to be the strongest representatives of their regions this season: FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, Cloud9, ENCE, Ninjas in Pajamas and Team Liquid.

The Play-In stage will begin with the round of 1/8 finals, which will be held in the BO1 format. All remaining matches will be held in the BO3 format, up to the grand final (which will be held in the BO5 format).

The top three teams from each group will advance to the championship playoffs (two from the upper bracket, one from the lower bracket). At the same time, the winners of each group will directly make it to the semi-finals of IEM Cologne 2022.

IEM Cologne 2022 will be held from 5 to 17 July in Germany at the Lanxess-Arena. The championship will feature 24 teams from Europe, the CIS, Oceania, China, North and South America, who will play for a prize pool of $1,000,000, as well as rating points for the BLAST Premier table.
