Already on Wednesday, February 1, IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In will start. Within three days, sixteen participants will fight for eight tickets to the group stage of the tournament. Format of IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In

All participants are placed in a double elimination bracket. The opening matches will be held in the BO1 format, and all remaining matches will be in the BO3 format. In order to advance to the group stage of the championship, participants need to get two wins in the upper bracket, or not lose in the lower bracket and win all the matches. Only eight teams will advance, and the remaining teams will leave the competition.

IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In will take place from 1 to 3 February in Katowice. As part of the first stage of the championship, sixteen participants from the CIS, Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania and Latin America will fight for eight tickets to the IEM Katowice 2023 group stage.
