There are only a few hours left before the start of BLAST Premier World Final 2021. The top eight teams at the end of the season will face off in Copenhagen for the last championship of the year, with a prize pool of $ 1,000,000. In this regard, we propose to get acquainted with the format of the event, the schedule, as well as the participants of the upcoming BLAST Premier World Final 2021.

BLAST Premier World Final 2021 format

The championship will begin with a Playoff Double-Elimination bracket, in which eight teams are split into quarterfinal pairs. While the winners of the starting matches will reach the semifinals, the losing teams will go to the lower bracket, where they will have the last chance to reach the BLAST Premier World Final 2021 grand final. Absolutely all matches of the tournament, including the grand final, will be held in the BO3 format (up to two cards won).

Eight teams from Europe, CIS and North America will determine the winner of the tournament at BLAST Studio in Copenhagen. The tournament will be held from 14 to 19 December in a studio format. According to rumors, the organizers planned to hold the championship in an Arab country, but in the end everything changed, while the organizers did not have time to book tickets for the Royal Arena.

All participants in the event will follow the recommendations for the prevention of coronavirus infection. BLAST officials said the tournament operator will continue to monitor developments. If the situation changes, the company is ready to adapt the event to international restrictions and the requirements of the Danish government.

Championship favorites and outsiders

Obviously, the main favorite of the tournament is the NAVI team, which won the last three championships without getting out of the top three since June. And do not forget that "Born to Win" do not lose over ten meetings, over and over again dealing with their rivals.

No less interesting are the prospects for Vitality, which won IEM Winter 2021 last weekend. However, the French team is still weak against the background of NAVI, since apEX and the company have lost three face-to-face meetings in the last month and a half.

Do not write off the Gambit team, which showed quite an adult CS at IEM Winter 2021, having good chances in a meeting against Vitality. Together with the Russian team, G2 is located, which waited for nexa to return to service.

Vague prospects for NIP, which, even though it reached the final of the last IEM Winter 2021 with phzy replaced, still continues to show weak play. The Danish team Heroic is in a slightly different situation, which failed at IEM Winter 2021, losing one of the leaders of the roster along the way. At the same time, Heroic is clearly tired, which can be seen from the last meetings.

We must not forget about Astralis, who, having failed at IEM Winter 2021, trained hard so as not to repeat the failure. Nevertheless, the meeting in the quarterfinals with Vitality does not bode well for the Danes, predicting a relegation to the lower bracket.

Enough has been said about Liquid - the team has been playing out with the current roster for a month now, showing mixed results, alternating between failed matches with good ones. Moreover, the North American team will begin their journey within the BLAST Premier World Final 2021 with a meeting against NAVI, which by definition does not bode well.
