Open qualifications start on B Site tomorrow
Ihor MatusNote the fact that the open selections were postponed to the 6th due to the fact that today qualifications for minor are held, dedicated to the ESL One Rio 2020.
Initially, open qualifications for the league from FACEIT were to be held from February 5 to 12, but now they will be held from 6 to 7 and from 10 to 11.
The qualifying round at B Site will be held in three divisions: Europe, North America and South America. The best representatives of each division will go to the LAN qualification, where a total prize pool of $ 100,000 will be raffled off. In closed qualifiers in North and South America, 16 teams will play each, while in Europe the number of participants in closed selections will be 32 teams.
Many teams have already confirmed their participation in the open qualifying rounds. In the European division we can single out NAVI Junior, Winstrike , HellRaisers , Gambit Youngsters and Team Liquid Junior from those of special interest, and Counter Logic Gaming Red in North America. The latter is noteworthy in that it features women who will fight for access to the closed selections with men's teams.
The winner of the LAN-qualification of the event will receive an invitation to the B Site, the league from FACEIT and will be the only invited participant from 24 teams.
Closed qualifying round for ESL One Rio 2020 will be held from March 5 to 8. Minor tournaments will start on April 26 and will end on May 2 in Brazil. Each division will receive two invitations to the ESL One Rio 2020, and third places will go to the 3rd Place Play-In, where they will compete for two additional invitations to the ESL One Rio 2020.
