IEM Summer 2021: Astralis fell into the lower bracket

The Bo1 format played a trick on Astralis. The Danes were unable to take more than seven rounds from FPX Esports on the new Ancient map. This card, by the way, was the first officially played by Ancient in the professional scene. In the second match, G2 Esports defeated Extra Salt with a score of 16-1. A devastating battle took place on Inferno.

Now Astralis will compete with Extra Salt in the lower bracket for the right to further participate in the tournament, and the victorious FPX Esports and G2 Esports advanced to the next round, where they will compete with each other for reaching the final of the Group A upper bracket.

Previously, two other matches were played, as a result of which Gambit and Vitality ended up in the second round, while Sprout and Complexity fell into the lower bracket.

Intel Extreme Masters Summer 2021 kicked off today and will end on June 13th. The total prize pool of the championship is $ 250,000, $ 100,000 of which will go to the winner.
