FURIA crush Vitality 3–0 to become IEM Chengdu 2025 champions
FURIA demolished Vitality 3–0 in the IEM Chengdu 2025 grand final — the Brazilian team confidently took revenge for all past defeats, leaving no chance for the Frenchmen. Thanks to YEKINDAR’s phenomenal performance and molodoy’s MVP display, FURIA triumphed with a 3–0 scoreline (13:11 Ancient, 13:10 Inferno, 13:11 Overpass) to claim the championship title and the main prize of $385,000.
Ancient (13:11 FURIA)
Vitality decided to start the final aggressively, bringing chaos to Ancient with pushes, double AWP setups, and strange defensive positions. But FURIA quickly adapted — molodoy had a strong first half, while the French side began to lose momentum due to weak utility usage and poor positioning. On the T side, Vitality played too simplistically, relying on individual skill, but FURIA punished their chaos with accurate wallbangs, better coordination, and complete site control awareness — that made all the difference.
Inferno (13:10 FURIA)
On Inferno, Vitality opened with an aggressive offense. From the very first round, they dominated FURIA and went up 5–0. Toward the end of the first half, FURIA managed to take several rounds and close the gap to 5–7. On their T side, molodoy once again became the key player for FURIA, recording the highest number of kills on Inferno. His performance led FURIA to victory, giving them a 2–0 lead in the series.
Overpass (11:13 FURIA)
At the start of Overpass, Vitality looked like the favorites. On the T side, they won most of the rounds and ended the first half 8–4. However, in the second half, Vitality lost control of the match. FURIA built a solid defense, and their previous map wins gave them confidence. Vitality failed to complete the comeback and fell with a close 11–13 scoreline.
Final MVP
The best player of this intense series was YEKINDAR. The young FURIA rifler delivered an outstanding performance across all three maps — with ADR 94.6, Swing +2.34%, and a 1.26 rating, leading FURIA to victory.
Another standout was molodoy, who earned the IEM Chengdu 2025 MVP award by HLTV — the second such honor in the Kazakh AWPer’s career. After the match, molodoy shared a brief comment about his emotions:
“I'm very happy... when I joined this team, I knew we would be TOP 1.”
FURIA showed dominant, confident Counter-Strike, sweeping Vitality 3–0 to become the IEM Chengdu 2025 champions, earning $385,000 in total ($1,250,000 for the team and $160,000 for the organization). Vitality, the tournament favorites, finished second — taking home $50,000 for the team and $100,000 for the organization.
