G2 goes to the playoffs of PGL Stockholm Major 2021

Team G2 advanced to the playoffs of PGL Stockholm Major 2021, completing the Legends stage with three wins. At the same time, the Evil Geniuses team leaves Stockholm, having suffered their third defeat.

G2 - Entropiq

The first meeting for reaching the playoffs of the championship began on the map Mirage, which became the choice of team G2. However, already in the first half, the Russian team began to cling, pulling out round after round. Ultimately, Entropiq finished half in their favor, gaining an advantage over the defensive game. Nevertheless, immediately after the changeover, G2 seized the initiative and ran forward. And even a series of successful rounds from Entropiq did not save the team from being defeated at the opponent's pick - 16:14.

Then the teams ran to the Dust 2 map, where everything was in favor of G2. And if not by shooting, then by luck the team got a two-fold advantage over the side switching. However, in the second half, Entropiq crashed and never came up with a way to recoup. As a result, an easy victory for G2 at the opponent's pick and an early entry into the playoffs of PGL Stockholm Major 2021 - 16: 8.

Note that for Entropiq the championship will continue tomorrow, November 1.

Vitality - Evil Geniuses

In a parallel match, the fate of the teams hanging by a thread from the relegation was decided. At the same time, already in the first half of the Inferno map, the French team showed their intentions to finish the game quickly. However, after the changeover, Evil Geniuses unexpectedly returned to the game, not only catching up with the opponent, but also sensationally closing Vitality on its own pick - 16:13.

Next, the teams hit the Vertigo map, where the French once again showed an exemplary game in the first half. However, there was no repetition of the history of the previous map, since Vitality issued easy rounds in the end and equalized the score in the series - 16: 5.

The VSK was decided on the Dust 2 map, which again took shape in favor of the French team. At the same time, after the change of sides, Evil Geniuses finally got used to the situation, starting to pack their bags - 16:12.

In turn, the French team remains in the championship, falling into the "2-1" basket.

PGL Major Stockholm 2021 runs from October 26 to November 7 in Sweden. 24 teams are competing for a prize pool of $ 2,000,000, as well as BLAST Premier and ESL Pro Tour points. The championship playoffs will take place at the Avicii Arena with spectators, while the early stages of the championship take place in a studio format.
