The MongolZ Advance to the Grand Final of BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 After 2–0 Victory Over paiN Gaming
On June 21, 2025, the second semifinal of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 took place, where The MongolZ secured a confident 2–0 win over South American team paiN Gaming. With this result, the Mongolian squad made history by becoming the first Asian team to reach the grand final of a Major.
The series was played in a BO3 format. On the first map, Mirage, The MongolZ dominated from the start and closed it out with a convincing 13–5 scoreline. Anubis, the second map, followed a similar script — another 13–5 victory, once again in favor of the Asian powerhouse. The team showed excellent coordination, sharp aim, and a well-prepared tactical approach across both maps.
With this win, The MongolZ become the first-ever Asian team to reach a Major grand final, marking a historic moment not only for their region but for the global CSGO scene. In the title match, scheduled for June 22 at 21:30 Kyiv time, they will face Team Vitality — the reigning champions and strong favorites for the final.
This will be The MongolZ’s first LAN grand final at a Major, and the team is determined to challenge the European giants. So far, they have yet to beat Vitality in a BO3 at a top-tier event, but their current form suggests they are ready to change that.
The grand final promises to be the climax of the tournament and could signal a new chapter for CS2 in Asia.
