3DMAX defeat B8 in a tense series and move closer to the PGL Bucharest 2026 playoffs
At PGL Bucharest 2026, the race for the playoffs continues, and the match between B8 and 3DMAX turned out to be one of the most intense clashes of the day. The teams played a full three-map series where momentum constantly shifted, but in the end, the French side had the final say. For both teams, this match was crucial in the standings, as every win brings them closer to a playoff spot.
Map veto:
- B8 removed Anubis
- 3DMAX removed Mirage
- B8 picked Ancient
- 3DMAX picked Inferno
- 3DMAX removed Dust2
- B8 removed Overpass
- Nuke was left over
Ancient (13:11 B8)
The opening map was already very competitive. B8 started on the T side and managed to secure the majority of rounds in the first half, closing it out 8:4. This was a comfortable lead to potentially finish the map without major issues. However, in the second half, the French squad responded strongly on their T side. B8 were close to letting the game slip into overtime, but managed to hold on and close the map 13:11.
Inferno (3:13 3DMAX)
On Inferno, the Ukrainian team looked like the complete opposite of what they showed on the first map, as 3DMAX took full control from the very beginning. The first half ended in a dominant 11:1 scoreline for the French side. After the side switch, B8 never really found a way back into the game. Final score: 13:3 for 3DMAX, tying the series 1-1.
Nuke (6:13 3DMAX)
The decider on Nuke once again went largely under 3DMAX’s control. The French team dominated the first half on the CT side with a 10:2 lead. B8 attempted to replicate that success after switching sides, but without much impact. Final score: 13:6 in favor of 3DMAX.
Match MVP
The standout player of the match was Graviti, who finished the series with 73 ADR and a 1.37 rating.
This is an important win for 3DMAX, bringing them to a 2-1 record. A victory in their next match would secure them a spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, B8 find themselves in a tougher position at 1-2, where their next match could be their last. PGL Bucharest 2026 takes place from April 4 to April 11, featuring 16 teams competing for a $625,000 prize pool.
