PGL Wallachia Season 5 Viewer Guide

The professional Dota 2 season is in full swing, and following the conclusion of The International 2025 qualifiers, we are set for PGL Wallachia Season 5, which will take place from June 21 to June 29, 2025. The PGL Wallachia series is one of the premier LAN events in Dota 2 and always draws significant attention. Season 5 is expected to be especially exciting as it will be held just ahead of the Esports World Cup. In this blog, we’ll cover everything you need to know about PGL Wallachia Season 5 — including the format, participating teams, match dates, and key information about the tournament.
Prize pool and format
Let’s start with the prize pool. As with most Tier-1 tournaments this year, PGL Wallachia Season 5 will feature a $1,000,000 prize pool. It's a significant sum and a major motivation for teams to perform — with the winner taking home $350,000.
As for the format, it follows the classic structure used in previous PGL Wallachia events. Teams will compete in a Swiss group stage followed by double-elimination playoffs.
Group Stage (June 21 – June 25, 2025):
- Sixteen teams in a modified Swiss system
- All matches are Bo3
- Top eight teams advance to the playoffs
- Remaining teams are eliminated
Playoffs (June 26 – June 29, 2025):
- Double-elimination bracket
- Grand Final is Bo5; all other matches are Bo3
This format ensures teams aren’t overburdened with too many

PGL Wallachia Season 5 Prediction & Analysis
To provide better insights into PGL Wallachia Season 5, we’ve analyzed the teams’ form and recent results. Since this tournament takes place right before the Esports World Cup 2025, some top-tier teams chose to skip the event to rest and prepare for what they consider a more critical competition. Others will use it as an opportunity to fine-tune their form. This also opens the door for lesser-known teams to shine.
Among the main favorites are Team Spirit, Tundra Esports, and potentially Team Liquid. Keep an eye on NAVI (NAVI Junior) and Nigma Galaxy, both of whom recently qualified for The International 2025. Truthfully, every team deserves attention — this is Dota 2, where anyone can beat anyone. Will you be watching PGL Wallachia Season 5?
