T1 Defeat 100 Thieves 2-0 and Advance to Round 5 of the Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage
The second elimination match of the day featured 100 Thieves taking on T1. Both teams entered with a 1-2 record, and the pressure was palpable. The series turned out to be incredibly intense and thrilling to watch. Let’s take a look at how it all unfolded.
Game 1 Picks:
- 100 Thieves: Ambessa, Wukong, Sylas, Varus, Alistar
- T1: Renekton, Xin Zhao, Taliyah, Corki, Leona
Game 1 Picks:
- 100 Thieves: Rumble, Pantheon, Akali, Kai`Sa, Rell
- T1: Galio, Jarvan IV, Orianna, Xayah, Neeko
The first game was extremely close and tense. 100 Thieves responded well to T1’s aggression and applied strong pressure themselves. However, T1’s macro play and map movement were simply superior. Had T1 been slightly weaker in their macro decisions, they could have easily lost this game. Despite 100 Thieves’ constant pressure, T1 always managed to find farm and push the lanes, creating more space across the map.
The second game followed almost the same pattern as the first. 100 Thieves showcased impressive mechanical skill, with mid laner Quid standing out for his confident performance against T1. However, their biggest mistake was failing to capitalize on their kills. Despite holding advantages in map control, kills, and gold, they didn’t take a single tower — even though opportunities were available almost every minute.
With this victory, T1 move forward to the next round with a 2-2 record, where they will fight for survival against other teams in the same position. As for 100 Thieves, their Worlds 2025 run ends here, finishing in 12th–14th place.
Reminder: The second week of the Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage runs from October 22–25. Teams that secure three wins advance to the Knockout Stage, while those with three losses are eliminated. Elimination and advancement matches are played in a Best-of-Three format with the Fearless Draft system.
