MAD Lions will play with EG for a slot in the Worlds 2022 group stage
Worlds 2022 Play-In in Mexico City continues. The matches of the Play-In Round 2 stage are approaching the denouement, where the first round of knockout matches took place yesterday.
MAD Lions and Saigon Buffalo opened the second round of the intermediate stage to the World Championship. The fourth team of the European division met with the second team of Vietnam, and without much difficulty outplayed their counterparts.
The match ended with a score of 3-1 in favor of the "lions": having taken the first map, MAD Lions lost on the second, after which they closed the next two in a confident manner. MVP of the match was jungler MAD Lions Elyoya, who holds one of the best tournaments of his career: the Spaniard finished bo5 with CA 8.0.
MAD Lions are moving further along the grid and now they have one series left to win to reach the group stage. To do this, they will need to outplay EG.
Saigon Buffalo, who lost in the first round of Play-In Round 2, leave the World Championship in the TOP-20. The team repeated the Worlds 2017 result.
