Cloud9 made it to the finals of the LCS Summer 2022 upper bracket and, thanks to this, secured an invite to the main annual League of Legends tournament. In the last match, Cloud9 won the fight against Evil Geniuses with a score of 3-1.
C9 are in the top 3 participants of the LCS Summer 2022 and depending on what place they take in the standings at the end, the team's seeding in the 2022 World Championship will be known.
If the team reaches the grand final, it will not only provide itself with a solid cash reward, but will also start in the World Championship right from the group stage. Otherwise, C9 will start the path in the preliminary stage of the Play-In.

Previously, the first eight participants of the 2022 World Championship were determined. Top Esports/JD Gaming, Gen.G Esports and T1 made it to the group stage, while Isurus Gaming, Rogue/G2 Esports, MAD Lions and 100 Thieves made it to the Play-In.
The 2022 World Championship will run from September 29 to November 5. The total prize fund of the championship will be $2,225,000. The event will be held offline in four locations: San Francisco, Atlanta, New York and Mexico City. At the moment, there is no information about how the funds will be distributed among the participants of the tournament.
