Bjergsen leaves Team Liquid

European esports organization Team Liquid has announced that its League of Legends roster is saying goodbye to Søren 'Bjergsen' Bjerg. The club released a lengthy farewell video.

Bjergsen joined Liquid in November 2021 as a mid laner. Together with him, the European club won the LCS 2022 Lock In, earning $150,000, and the LCS 2022 Spring. At the LCS 2022 Spring Playoffs, the Europeans took 3rd place and received $30,000 in prize money. The team achieved similar results at LCS 2022 Summer.

The team failed to qualify for The 2022 Season World Championship, having stopped one step away from getting the coveted slot in the LCS 2022 Championship. In the third round of the lower bracket, Team Liquid lost to Evil Geniuses with a score of 2:3. Thus, Liquid missed the main League of Legends event of the year. Earlier, the team left Hans sama, as well as the head coach of Guilhoto. Bjergsen's contract was originally signed until November 21, 2023.

The Team Liquid roster is shown below:

  • bwipo
  • Santorini
  • CoreJJ

Recall that The 2022 Season World Championship was held from September 29 to November 5 this year in Mexico and the United States. 24 teams competed for the $2,225,000 prize pool and the title of world champion. The winner of the tournament was the Korean team DPX, who earned the main prize of $489,500.
