The Worlds 2022 final helped the championship to set a new record for the number of simultaneous viewers. According to the escharts portal, 5,147,699 users followed the competition at its peak.

The most watched match was the Worlds 2022 final between T1 and DRX . The second place in terms of hype among the audience is also with T1 - the match between T1 and JG Gaming was watched by 2,235,110 spectators at the peak.

In addition to the top values of users watching the tournament live, Worlds 2022 showed other equally massive indicators. Thus, the main tournament of the year was watched on average by 987,437 viewers who watched 141,943,946 hours of broadcast.

The Audience Choice team was the Worlds 2022 Champions – DRX. Deft's "last dance" was watched for 43.7 million hours.

DRX's path through the tournament has become one of the most striking examples of a "Cinderella Story" in modern esports . Deft's team won the Worlds 2022 by going from 5th place LCK through the Play-In stage, 2021 world champions EDward Gaming, Korea Gen.G champions and the most titled club in the world of League of Legends T1.

The 2022 World Championship took place from September 29 to November 5 in Mexico and the USA. The Play-In stage took place from September 29 to October 4 at the Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City, and the group stage took place from October 7-10 and October 13-16 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. The quarter-finals were played at the same Hulu Theater from October 21-24, the semi-finals were hosted by the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and the final was held at the Chase Center on November 5 in San Francisco. As part of the championship, 24 teams from all over the world competed for a total prize pool of $2,225,000.
