G2 claimed a 2–0 victory over FURIA in the Group A upper bracket quarter-final of IEM Cologne 2025. Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa led the scoreboard with 33 kills and a 1.29 rating, earning MVP honors. G2 move forward to face the winner of The MongolZ vs 3DMAX in the semi-finals, while FURIA drops to the lower bracket.

Map 1 – Dust2 (13:11 G2)

FURIA’s pick started with G2 taking control early, leading 9:3 at halftime on the CT side. FURIA mounted a second-half comeback, closing the gap to just two rounds, but malbsMd’s late-round multi-kills secured G2’s win.

Map 2 – Inferno (13:8 G2)

G2’s map choice showed a more structured performance. They repeated a strong 9:3 first half and closed Inferno 13:8. huNter- added impactful trades, while HeavyGod provided key site holds that shut down FURIA’s advances.

G2 will play in the Group A upper semi-final against the winner of The MongolZ vs 3DMAX. FURIA now faces an elimination match in the lower bracket, where they will fight to stay in the tournament.

IEM Cologne 2025 takes place in Cologne, Germany, featuring three stages: Play-In (July 20–23), Group Stage (July 24–30), and Playoffs (August 1–3). The event has a $1,000,000 prize pool, awarding $400,000 to the champion, $180,000 to the runner-up, and $80,000 for third place.
