G2 overpower Aurora on Inferno
G2 improved their record to 2-1 in the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 after a one-sided 13-4 win against Aurora on Inferno. The match was part of Swiss Stage 3 for teams with a 1-1 score, and the European side made quick work of the Turkish lineup, closing the game in 17 rounds.
Aurora managed a few early-round trades and stayed within striking distance at 4-6, but G2 secured the last two rounds of the first half before dominating the CT side with five unanswered rounds. The Turkish squad failed to register a single T-side round, running into strong setups and efficient crossfires across the map.
Nemanja 'huNter-' Kovač led the server with 18 kills, 112.9 ADR, and a 1.83 rating. He was selected as Player of the Match with over 85% of the votes. Support came from malbsMd and HeavyGod, both holding over 1.20 ratings while anchoring key positions. hades and Snax provided stable performances, with hades finishing 12-8 and securing multiple round openers.
Aurora’s only standout was jottAAA, who posted 19 kills and a 1.46 rating despite the loss. His solo efforts, including a 4K in Round 5, were not enough to overcome the rest of the team’s output. XANTARES ended with a neutral 9-11, while woxic, Wicadia, and MAJ3R were held below 0.70 in rating, unable to break G2’s defense in the second half.
G2 now move on to a 2-1 matchup against FaZe, scheduled for June 14. Aurora drop to 1-2 and will play vs 3DMAX in an elimination match next.
