Aurora in 1:1 at Austin Major Stage 3
Aurora started Stage 3 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 with a convincing 13-5 victory over FaZe on Anubis but were unable to maintain momentum, losing 7-13 to FURIA on Dust2 in their second Swiss round match.
The opening match saw Aurora dominate from the start on Anubis. Turkey’s Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş led the charge with an outstanding 23-7 K-D, 117.6 ADR, and a 2.20 rating, dismantling FaZe’s defenses. FaZe struggled to find answers despite efforts from Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, who finished with a balanced 13-13 and a 1.10 rating.
However, Aurora’s second match against FURIA exposed cracks. On Dust2, Aurora fell 7-13 after a slow start in both halves. Özgür “woxic” Eker was the only player to post a positive rating for Aurora, finishing with 16-14 and 78.5 ADR. The Brazilian squad led by Kazakhstan’s Danil “molodoy” Golubenko delivered a strong team performance, with molodoy registering 22-11, a 1.92 rating, and a 90% KAST.
This split leaves Aurora with a 1-1 record as the Swiss stage progresses.
