Cloud9 and G2 Esports start victoriously in ESL Pro League Season 17

Teams Cloud9 and G2 Esports got their first wins in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 17. As part of the quarterfinals of the upper bracket, they managed to overcome Evil Geniuses (2:0) and Eternal Fire (2:0), respectively, to advance to the next round and meet together. In turn, the Evil Geniuses and Eternal Fire teams went to the lower bracket, where they will play for the right not to fall from the "Last Chance" bracket.

Cloud9-Evil Geniuses

The next meeting of the starting day of the competition began on the Inferno map, which turned out to be the choice of the North American team. However, here, as expected, Evil Geniuses could not oppose anything to the opponent. At the same time, the wards of groove showed an exemplary game for defense in order to close all questions even before the change of sides - 11:4. In the second half, the intrigue did not return to the server, as well as the players of Evil Geniuses. In turn, Cloud9 routinely finished playing in the attack and quickly brought the matter to a rout — 16:5.

Then the teams moved to the Mirage map, which became the choice of Cloud9. Here the situation was absolutely identical, since the North American team looked simply helpless and did not show anything in response to the opponent. In turn, Groove's wards managed to unwind in the attack in order to record another rout - 11:4. After switching sides, Evil Geniuses decided to end the torment quickly, allowing Cloud9 to get the necessary rounds and get the first victory in the championship — 16:4.

Eternal Fire — G2 Esports

The parallel meeting started on the Anubis map, which turned out to be the choice of the Turkish team. But if the starting segment went in favor of Eternal Fire, then the wards of Swani went on to a confident streak and got a two-fold advantage at the close of the first half — 10:5. After the change of sides, the Turkish team failed to impose a fight, while the players of G2 Esports did not shelve it and brought the matter to a logical victory — 16:7.

Next, the teams moved to the Nuke map, which became the choice of G2 Esports. Here, things got much worse for the Turkish team, as they got completely lost in defense and allowed to inflict a rout - 11:4. In the second half, the situation changed slightly for the better: while Eternal Fire tried to join the fight, G2 Esports did not allow the opponent to return to the game completely and brought the matter to a victorious end — 16:14.
