G2 Esports advance to BLAST Premier World Final 2022 semi-finals

The G2 Esports team beat Vitality 2:1 at BLAST Premier World Final 2022, thanks to which they made it to the semi-finals of the competition. Here, the European team will meet with FaZe Clan, which became the strongest team in Group A. In turn, Vitality dropped out of the tournament, taking 5th-6th place and earning $25,000.

The second quarter-final of the championship started on the Nuke map, which turned out to be the choice of G2 Esports. At the same time, the "owners" instantly seized the initiative on the server, showing a lightning attack. In turn, zonic's men failed to adapt to the opponent's combinations, having been defeated by the end of the first half — 12:3. After the side switch, Vitality never appeared on the server, while the G2 Esports players brought the matter to a devastating level and took the lead in the series — 16:3.

Next, the teams moved to the Vertigo map, which became Vitality's choice. Here the Danish-French team began to correct for the terrible game on the previous map, managing to quickly take control of the game. However, G2 Esports was honored with a small series of rounds to prevent defeat - 9:6. After switching sides, NiKo and company quickly pulled ahead, claiming victory at some point. But here the Vitality team turned on, which managed to bring the matter to overtime, and then equalize the score in the series - 19:15.

Everything was decided on the Anubis map, the first half of which ended with a minimal advantage in favor of Vitality — 8:7. After switching sides, G2 Esports managed to win the economic race in order to run ahead, and then get the final victory in the match — 16:11.

BLAST Premier World Final 2022 takes place from December 14 to 18 in Abu Dhabi at the Etihad Arena. As part of the championship, eight teams from Europe, the CIS and North America are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,000,000.
