The last meetings of group D within the framework of ESL Pro League Season 16 have ended, according to the results of which the teams Cloud9 , FURIA and Team Liquid reached the playoffs of the competition. We tell the path of the teams at the group stage and get acquainted with the final table of group D.

Cloud9 (4 wins and 1 loss - first place)

The Cloud9 team became the strongest in the last sextet, winning over Evil Geniuses (2:0), FURIA (2:0), Eternal Fire (2:0) and Movistar Riders (2:0). Despite the defeat from Team Liquid (0:2) in the last round, the Russian team remained on the first line and advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

FURIA (4 wins and 1 loss - second place)

With a similar result, the Brazilians from FURIA are on the second line. However, the team lost to Cloud9 (0:2) in a face-to-face match, thus losing the chance to rise higher. At the same time, the team turned out to be stronger than Evil Geniuses (2:0), Movistar Riders (2:0), Team Liquid (2:1) and Eternal Fire (2:1), scoring 12 points.

Team Liquid (3 wins and 2 losses - third place)

The last playoff participant from group D was Team Liquid. At the same time, the North American team managed to lose to FURIA (1:2) and Eternal Fire (0:2), but thanks to the victories over Movistar Riders (2:1), Cloud9 (2:0) and Evil Geniuses (2:0) got into the TOP -3 sextets.

On the fourth line is another North American team - Evil Geniuses. The team has victories over Eternal Fire (2:0) and Movistar Riders (2:0), as well as defeats from Cloud9 (0:2), Team Liquid (0:2) and FURIA (0:2).

Eternal Fire (2 wins and 3 losses - fifth place)

The Turkish team Eternal Fire stopped with a similar result of 6 points. However, the team lost to Evil Geniuses (0:2) in the face-to-face confrontation, adding here the loss of points after the meetings with Cloud9 (0:2) and FURIA (1:2). And yet, Eternal Fire did not get lost in this championship, managing to outperform Team Liquid (2:0) and Movistar Riders (2:0).

Movistar Riders (0 wins and 5 losses - sixth place)

The main failure of group D and the entire tournament was the Movistar Riders team, which suffered five defeats in the group stage, winning only one map: Cloud9 (0:2), FURIA (0:2), Evil Geniuses (0:2), Team Liquid (1:2) and Eternal Fire (0:2).

ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000. The winner of the tournament will receive the main prize of $175,000, as well as tickets to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.
