ESL Challenger League Season 42: Europe group stage draw results announced

The participants of ESL Challenger League Season 42: Europe recognized their rivals from the group stage. According to information published on the HLTV portal, the reigning champion Team Falcons will play in the same group with ECSTATIC, Ungentium and Bad News Eagles. In addition, the tournament has been moved two weeks (August 30) to likely allow teams to qualify for the European RMR tournament.

Starting matches in each quartet are determined by a random draw. In the second round, the winners of the starting confrontations will meet each other, challenging the first place in the group, while the losing teams will compete for the last place and elimination from the tournament. In the third round, the teams with three points will compete for the last ticket to the playoffs and second place in the group.

Note that the championship will be the debut for the updated compositions of several teams at once. The off-season saw changes in SAW, HEET, SINNERS, 9INE, and Finest. In addition, transfers are expected in the camp of Sprout, ECSTATIC, AGO and Team Falcons.

Also, let's not forget that the teams Movistar Riders and ex-MAD Lions managed to withdraw from ESL Challenger League Season 42: Europe.

  • 1st place: $20,000 + seat at EPL Conference S17.
  • 2nd place: $11,500 + S43 Challenger League spot.
  • 3rd place: $7,000 + S43 Challenger League spot.
  • 4th place: $4,000 + seat in the S43 Challenger League.
  • 5th-6th place: $2,500 + place in the S43 Challenger League.
  • 7th-8th place: $1,250 + seat in the S43 Challenger League.
  • 9th-12th place: place in the S43 Challenger League.
  • 13th-16th place: departure to S42 Relegation.

ESL Challenger League Season 42: Europe starts on August 30th. As part of the championship, sixteen teams from Europe and the CIS will compete for a prize pool of $50,000, as well as a ticket to the ESL Pro League Conference Season 17, which will go to the winner.
