Entropiq, Evil Geniuses, VERTEX and Wings Up Gaming qualified for ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022

The closed qualifiers for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 have ended in four regions, namely Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America, as a result of which Entropiq, Evil Geniuses, VERTEX and Wings Up Gaming have qualified for the upcoming championship. Now the organizers have to allocate four more slots for invited participants, the list of which will be announced a little later. We offer to run through the results of the past qualifications and present their champions.

Europe

The Entropiq team became the winner of the European closed qualifier. The Russian team, having started their journey with a victory over NASA (2:0), lost to HEET (1:2) on the first day and fell into the lower bracket. However, here the wards of hooch managed to beat Formel, K23 (2:1) and HEET (2:1), making it to the final. Here Entropiq proved to be stronger than Sprout (2:1), thanks to which she qualified for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022.

  • 1st place: Entropiq
  • 2nd place: Sprout
  • 3rd place: HEET
  • 4th place: K23

North America

In North America, the Evil Geniuses team, which was represented by the Party Astronauts, earned their ticket to the championship in Melbourne. As part of the qualification, the North American team outplayed Team oNe (2:0), but then lost to ATK (0:2) and fell into the lower bracket. However, the team further coped with Gaimin Gladiators (2:1) and ATK (2:0), thus making it to the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022.

  • 3rd place: Gaimin Gladiators
  • 4th place: Team oNe eSports

Oceania

The winner of the Australian qualifier was the VERTEX team, which managed to beat Team Aftershock (2:0) as part of the qualifying championship, but then lost to Encore Esports Club (1:2) and fell into the lower bracket. Nevertheless, the Australian team managed to recover to outplay Team Aftershock (2:1) and Encore Esports Club (2:1), and at the same time get to the home ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022.

  • 1st place: VERTEX Esports Club
  • 2nd place: Encore Esports Club
  • 3rd place: Team Aftershock
  • 4th place: DGG Esports

Asia

The Chinese team Wings Up Gaming became the champion of the Asian qualifier, which started its journey with a defeat from IHC Esports (1:2). However, the team managed to get ahead of The MongolZ (2:0), YK Gaming (2:0) and IHC Esports (2:0), thanks to which they qualified for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022.

ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 will take place September 2-4 in Australia. As part of the championship, eight teams from Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America will compete for a prize pool of $100,000, as well as a ticket to the ESL Pro League Conference Season 17, which will go to the winner.
