The first round of the group stage of ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 has come to an end, following which the teams OG, Entropiq, Imperial Esports and paiN Gaming got their debut victories in the championship. We offer to get acquainted with the results of past matches and present intermediate layouts in quartets.

OG - Wings Up Gaming

The group stage was opened by a duel between OG and Wings Up Gaming, which took place on the Mirage map. At the same time, the favorite began to have problems already at the start of the meeting, since the Chinese team managed to impose their game and take six rounds in attack. After switching sides, Wings Up Gaming continued to dictate its terms, causing trouble for the opponent. And yet, in the end, OG managed to seize the initiative to get the first victory in the championship — 16:13.

Entropiq-EG.PA

The next meeting took place on the Overpass map. However, in this case, no intrigue was foreseen, since the Russian team immediately took control of the game, managing to crush the opponent's defense. After the switch of sides, EG.PA failed to wake up, thus allowing Entropiq to get the starting victory in the tournament — 16:4.

Imperial Esports - VERTEX ESC

The first game in Group B took place on the Inferno map. At the same time, the first half was left for the Brazilian team, which showed an excellent start and earned a solid advantage. However, after the changeover, the VERTEX ESC players began to quickly close the gap, at some point feeling weak. Nevertheless, Imperial Esports had enough experience to prevent misfires, and at the same time to get a labor victory — 16:13.

paiN Gaming

The final confrontation of the first round took place on the Nuke map. At the same time, the teams could not determine the favorite of the match for a long time, exchanging a series of rounds. However, in the very end, the Brazilian team managed to gather on defense to defeat Grayhound, and at the same time start with victories as part of the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 - 16:12.

ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 takes place from 2 to 4 September in Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena. As part of the championship, eight teams from the CIS, Europe, China, Australia, North and South America are fighting for a total prize pool of $100,000, as well as a ticket to the ESL Pro League Conference Season 17.
