What you need to know before starting DreamHack Open November 2021

There are only a few hours left before the start of DreamHack Open November 2021. At the same time, given the composition of the participants, the tournament is expected to be interesting. In this regard, we invite you to get acquainted with the basic rules, format, distribution of the prize fund, as well as specific participants in DreamHack Open November 2021.

Format of the event

DreamHack Open November 2021 will take place online from November 10-14. Eight teams from Europe will compete for a prize pool of $ 100,000. The winner of the tournament will receive $ 50,000, as well as a ticket to the upcoming ESL Pro League Conference Season 15. At the same time, the six best teams at the end of DreamHack Open November 2021 will receive points in the ESL Pro Tour rating.

All participants were divided into two groups, in which they will compete for two tickets to the playoffs. The team that takes the first place in the group, that is, the team that wins both starting matches, will receive the highest seed in the semifinals. In turn, the second place in the playoffs will be won by the team that turned out to be stronger than the opponent in the decisive match.

All matches, with the exception of the grand final, will be played in BO3 format. In turn, the main fight will take place in the BO5 format.

As stated above, the top two teams in the group will advance to the playoffs. At this stage, the teams will compete for elimination, thereby determining the winner of the championship in the single draw.

Favorites and outsiders

Three teams should be singled out as the main favorites of the tournament - BIG, ENCE and MOUZ. To some extent, teams have similar problems. However, the experience of the teams represented against the background of rivals should become a predetermining factor. Fnatic and MAD Lions stand out as shadow favorites. If the European team has recently begun to grow, then the Swedish-British tandem, together with smooya, looks really cheerful.

The main outsiders are Spirit, forZe and GamerLegion. If the teams from the CIS have just changed their line-ups, significantly younger than the base, the team from Sweden has never performed at such a high level. Interestingly, forZe was not supposed to participate at DreamHack Open November 2021 at all. However, Complexity disbanded the roster, which is why the organizers decided to issue an invite to the team that took fourth place in the closed qualifier.
