Astralis, GODSENT, paiN and Sharks risk leaving PGL Major Stockholm 2021

The first four matches in the second round of PGL Major Stockholm 2021 have ended, as a result of which several teams at once risk leaving the championship. At the same time, the main surprise is the Danish team Astralis, which has already suffered a second defeat at this tournament.

Spirit - GODSENT

An extremely important fight for the CIS team took place on the Nuke map, on which the Brazilians from GODSENT have already played in the PGL Major Stockholm 2021. However, in the first half Spirit showed too confident defense, having issued a two-fold advantage before switching sides. But in the attack, the “dragons” did not lose heart, having managed to turn the tide of the match in the end, thereby gaining the first victory in this championship - 16:12.

Astralis - Entropiq

Astralis' second attempt to wake up happened on Dust 2. However, from the very start, Entropiq players seized the initiative on the map, gaining a comfortable advantage over switching sides. But in the second half the Danish team did not manage to oppose anything to the rival, who played very confidently in defense, having issued the second consecutive defeat for four-time Major-tournaments winners - 16: 6.

paiN - Renegades

An exciting duel took place on the Nuke map. Moreover, the starting segment went entirely in favor of the Brazilians, who could have buried the opponent in the first half. However, the comeback from Renegades in the attack allowed the team to level the score, and at the same time regain self-confidence. As a result, the defense of the Australian team was ready for paiN's attacks, thanks to which Renegades retained the right to live within the framework of PGL Major Stockholm 2021 - 16:14.

Sharks - TYLOO

The derby of two obviously weak teams took place on the Mirage map. And if the starting advantage went in favor of TYLOO, then before the changeover the Brazilians gained a good move, having managed to close the gap. The second half began with the dominance of Sharks, which at some point ran ahead. However, the experience of the Chinese team was of decisive importance in order to prevent overtime and to secure the first victory in the tournament - 16:14.

Within the second round of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, there are four meetings left:

  • ENCE - FaZe Clan.
  • BIG - Copenhagen Flames.
  • Movistar Riders - Virtus.pro.
  • Heroic - MOUZ.

Based on the results of the remaining meetings, a group of candidates will be formed both for reaching the next stage and for relegation from PGL Major Stockholm 2021. Recall that the "play-off" matches will be held in the BO3 format.
