paiN and Renegades say goodbye to PGL Major Stockholm 2021

The last matches in the fourth round of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 Challengers Stage have ended, as a result of which paiN and Renegades said goodbye to the tournament. At the same time, Astralis and MOUZ went to the final round, where they will compete for the right to enter the Legends stage.

Astralis - paiN

The opposition between Denmark and Brazil began on the Nuke map, which on paper was quite suitable for paiN. However, already in the first half, the Brazilian team realized their real position, and failed to come up with anything against the attack of the favorite. In turn, the Danes continued to bend their line in defense in order to easily close their own pick and lead in the series - 16: 8.

Next, the teams ran to the Ancient map, which for a year and a half did not manage to fall in love with the Danes. At the same time, already in the first half, paiN showed a good mood, thereby demonstrating a clear desire to wake up the intrigue. The side switching clearly did not go to the advantage of Astralis, which at one point burned with a score of 8:15. However, at the right moment, the players of the Danish team woke up a champion character, which made it possible not only to create a comeback and bring the card into overtime, but also to gnaw out a victory at the opponent's pick - 19:16.

MOUZ - Renegades

The parallel match was no less hot. It all started with MOUZ's colossal dominance of Mirage. However, from 4:11 the Australians not only woke up, but also knocked down the favorite - 16:14.

Then the teams ended up on the Inferno map, where Renegades did not feel so comfortable anymore. And if in the first half the Australians were still trying to fight, then after the change of sides MOUZ finally seized the initiative, having managed to equalize the score in the series - 16:10.

Everything was decided on the Vertigo map, on which the European team immediately took control of the situation, having issued a defeat before the changeover - 11: 4. However, there was no repetition of the first map, as MOUZ confidently finished the second half, sending Renegades back home - 16: 6.
