The final of LEC Spring 2021 will be quite extraordinary this year. G2 Esports and Fnatic, who fought each other in the final match for seven years, were unable to make it to the grand final this time.

G2 Esports performed poorly against Rogue in the lower bracket final, while Fnatic failed to defeat FC Shalke 04 Esports in the match for reaching the third round of the lower bracket.

In the eight years of the European League of Legends League existence, Alliance became the only team, apart from G2 and Fnatic, that managed to become the winner of the event. This happened in 2014, when Alliance beat Rekkles and his teammates from Fnatic in the final. In 2021, Rekkles moved from Fnatic to their main competitors, G2 Esports. With his help, the team managed to take first place in the regular season, but the team was less fortunate in the playoffs. In the final of the lower bracket, the team lost to Rogue and finished 3rd in the championship, receiving € 30,000 in reward.
