LEC Versus 2026: Los Ratones Come Back from 10,000 Gold Down to Defeat Shifters

The second match of the day featured a confrontation between Shifters and Los Ratones. Prior to this encounter, Shifters held a balanced 2-2 record in the group stage, whereas Los Ratones were positioned at the bottom of the standings with a 1-4 scoreline. Based on the previous performances of both teams, Shifters entered the match as the clear favorites. However, let us take a closer look at how the match actually unfolded.

By the 20th minute, Shifters had built a lead of nearly 9,000 gold, which allowed them to win teamfights and secure their first Baron as well as two dragons.

With such a significant advantage, Shifters pushed through the top lane and managed to clear it entirely. However, they subsequently lost a crucial fight, giving up an ACE to Los Ratones. This allowed Los Ratones to sustain their resistance for a while longer. Following this, Shifters attempted to secure another Baron, but Los Ratones executed an excellent fight and claimed a second consecutive ACE. This allowed them to take the Baron and shift the momentum of the game in their favour.

Immediately after, Los Ratones engaged in another highly successful fight. Shifters made several critical mistakes during this encounter, which ultimately led to their defeat. Los Ratones have now secured two consecutive wins, bringing their group record to 2-4 and moving them out of last place. Meanwhile, Shifters now hold a 2-3 record in the group stage.

This year, the LEC Versus 2026 does not provide a cash prize for winning the tournament. Instead, teams are competing for the opportunity to qualify for the international tournament, First Stand 2026. The Regular Season will be held in a Bo1 format where every team faces each other. In total, teams will play 11 matches each, and those with the best results will advance to the playoffs.
