LEC Versus 2026: G2 Esports Defeats Fnatic to Clinch Final Playoff Spot
The final match, deciding the fate of multiple teams, is G2 Esports vs Fnatic. Both teams hold a 5-5 record in the group, but due to head-to-head results, Fnatic has already qualified for the playoffs. If Fnatic loses, Los Ratones are eliminated from the tournament; however, if Fnatic wins, G2 Esports will leave the tournament, and Los Ratones will advance to the playoffs.
Game 1 Picks:
- G2 Esports: Poppy, Xin Zhao, Orianna, Sivir, Bard
- Fnatic: Ambessa, Vi, Azir, Jhin, Nautilus
A very strong draft from G2 Esports shut down all lanes against Fnatic's champions. First Blood eventually went to Fnatic following a bot lane dive, with Vi securing the kill, but Sivir managed to trade back for a kill of her own. This exchange was more than favorable for G2 Esports. Literally just a couple of minutes later, Fnatic's composition began to work against them. They lacked the ability to force team fights or participate effectively, giving up objectives for free. This was clearly demonstrated in a fight after G2 took the Infernal Dragon, engaged in Fnatic's jungle, and won the skirmish decisively.
By the 12th minute, G2 Esports' advantage had grown even further. With two dragons secured and a gold lead of nearly 3,000, Fnatic looked lost. It was unclear how they could execute their game plan, considering every G2 champion had the tools to survive Fnatic 's burst combos.
At the 22nd minute, G2 Esports began setting up vision to secure their 4th dragon. Fnatic realized they had to contest, but they grouped up right into an Orianna Shockwave, resulting in a near team-wipe.
The final nail in the coffin was a fight at Baron, where Fnatic once again lost without a chance. This allowed G2 Esports to take the Baron buff and end the game. This victory secures a playoff spot for G2 Esports. Meanwhile, this defeat for Fnatic eliminates Los Ratones from the LEC Versus 2026.

Los RatonesThis year, the LEC Versus 2026 does not provide a cash prize for winning the tournament. Instead, teams are competing for the opportunity to qualify for the international tournament, First Stand 2026. The Regular Season will be held in a Bo1 format where every team faces each other. In total, teams will play 11 matches each, and those with the best results will advance to the playoffs.
