Gen.G outplayed DAMWON to advance to the semi-finals of Worlds 2022
Yuriy SheremetKnockout Stage at Worlds 2022 in New York continues. Gen.G Esports and DAMWON Gaming played in the third quarterfinal of the main tournament of the year.
The South Korean derby was the first match of the main stage of Worlds 22, which ended with a full fifth map. The victory was celebrated by the reigning LCK champions from Gen.G Esports.
Gen.G took the first two cards using Miss Fortune and Yummi. The first lasted 25 minutes, but the second - 42, which is an enchanting indicator for the League of Legends of this level.
Leading the series 2-0, Gen.G probably didn't expect such a strong-willed comeback from DAMWON given the second map. Last year's vice-champions, with the help of Viego and Aphelios, took the map at number three and the fourth game of the series.
On the deciding map, Gen.G picked Gnar, Sejuani, Viktor, Lucian and Nami. The classic bot combo helped Gen.G get to the Worlds 2022 semi-finals, where the team will play against the winner of the DRX-EDward Gaming pair.
