West on the way to Worlds 2022: what do you remember about the penultimate week of the playoffs in the LEC and LCS

Less than a month is left before the World Championship 2022, and we already know the names of almost all the participants in the tournament. With the European and North American Qualifiers coming to an end, today we're going to tell you what the most interesting thing happened in the penultimate game week of the Western Region Playoffs.

LEC Summer 2022

We start with Europe, where 4 tickets to the upcoming World Cup are up for grabs. We have previously talked about this topic, however, the final seeding of teams for Wolrds 2022 has not yet been determined.

Today we will talk specifically about the matches, and naturally, Fnatic became the main sensation. "Orange" continue their march along the lower bracket, not feeling the opponents. Having won an easy victory in the quarter-finals over Misfits Gaming (3-0), the players went to the semi-finals, where they defeated MAD Lions (3-1) with almost the same ease, eliminating both opponents from the tournament. Now they have a meeting with Rogue, and it's definitely worth watching.

G2 Esports continue to hold the title of tournament favorites, easily defeating the same Rogue (3-0), the team earned a place in the grand final, where on September 11, they will fight the winner of the Fnatic/Rogue pair.

In the last week of the tournament, we will have 2 matches in which all split winners are distributed. Separately, I would like to note that all participants: G2 Esports, Rogue, Fnatic, will join MAD Lions and go to the upcoming World Championship, regardless of the final places.

LCS Summer 2022

In North America, 3 tickets to the World Championship 2022 are up for grabs, and the past week has also been rich in interesting events.

Evil Geniuses continue to hold onto the tournament with all their might, earning a tough win over TSM (3-2) in the quarterfinals of the losers. Then the team went to the semi-finals, where they had an equally difficult meeting with Team Liquid: after five tense maps, the Evil Geniuses managed to defeat the Horses (3-2). They will now face 100 Thieves in the lower bracket final.

Cloud9 replenished their list of defeated opponents with a new team, as part of the C9 upper bracket final, they effortlessly defeated 100 Thieves (3-1), thanks to which they earned a place in the grand final, where on September 11 they will face off against the winner of the Evil Geniuses/100 Thieves pair, for the tournament title.

All remaining participants: Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves and Cloud9 are going to the upcoming World Championship 2022, regardless of the final places.

Recall that the World Championship 2022 will be held from September 29 to November 5 in Mexico and the United States. The Play-In stage will take place from September 29 to October 4 at the Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City, and the group stage will take place from October 7-10 and October 13-16 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. As part of the championship, 24 teams from all over the world (excluding Eastern Europe) will compete for a total prize pool of $2,225,000.
