TSM Shares Roster Announcement and Pandemic Issues
bgsleeTSM (formerly known as Team SoloMid) is a North American esports organization founded by brothers Andy "Reginald" Dean and Dan "Dan Dinh" Dean in September 2009, based on the SoloMid.Net community. Since June 2021 the organization known as TSM FTX in eSports, not associated with Riot Games. The organization previously hosted TSM Darkness and the now disbanded Team SoloMid Evo. TSM is the only team to qualify for the first seven League of Legends World Championships, as well as the only team to qualify for the first ten NA LCS Finals.
Today on Twitter, the organization shared the difficulties associated with assembling a League of Legends team for 2022, due to the COVID pandemic.
“ Due to the multitude of COVID-related issues, our LCS roster has not had the opportunity to get together as a team to train and prepare for the upcoming Lock In tournament. In addition, due to international travel restrictions related to the pandemic, Keaiduo and Shenyi are unlikely to arrive in Los Angeles in time for the Lock In tournament.
Our TSM Academy academic team, however, did bootcamping overseas together and put on a strong fight in the offseason. Rather than creating a consolidated roster of players who are available and have to replace them in the middle of the tournament, we consulted with LCS and decided to use our Academy team to participate in the LCS Lock In tournament. "
We have been working for several weeks to find a solution to this problem, and are pleased to announce an option that gives both teams the opportunity to prepare together and allows us to participate in the Lock In, in which we are pleased to represent our TSM Academy roster, "the organization notes on its twitter.
And so it became known that the Academic Team will represent TSM at LCS Lock In 2022. According to the previous merits of TSM Academy of the past year, we can single out: 4th place at the Unified Grand Prix 2021 Spring with a prize of $ 1,000, 5-6 places at LCS Proving Grounds 2021 Spring with a prize of $ 7,500 and the final 3rd place at the Unified Grand Prix 2021 Summer.
Nevertheless, the team scored these results before the entry of the eminent top lane player V1per and the Instinct botliner. V1per is renowned for his prowess on Riven and has even reached Rank 1 on this champion. Peter Zhang continues to be the team's head coach, while Andre "Gunaso" Ferreira remains the co-coach. With such innovations, the TSM Academy members have great potential to achieve high results in the upcoming LCS Spring 2022.
The composition of the team at the moment is as follows:
- Toplainer - Omran "V1per" Shura
- Jungler - Yeon "Hyper" Seo
- Midlane - Ji "Takeover" Cha Hyun Min
- Botlainer - Tony "Instinct" Ng
- Support - Wang "Yursan" Shenyu
