Sébastien «Ceb» Debs is one of the best Dota 2 gamers in the world. The best representative of the French Dota school. Ceb is a unique gamer that has managed to show his high skills in both coaching and competitive matches. Let us introduce the history of Ceb becoming an esportsman.
Beginning of Career
Ceb started his way to the top of esports Olymp a long time he got to a professional team. When he was a child, he spent a lot of time in computer clubs where he played the first version of Dota.
The first professional clubs in Ceb’s career appeared when there was the first version of the game. There was no special success for Ceb then. When gamers switched to the second version of Dota, Ceb joined Team Shakira.
The gamer played for Team Shakira for less than a year, in January 2012 he became a Western Wolves gamer. Having played there for 3 months, he left the team and became a part of mTw.
With mTw, Ceb won his first major tournament – DreamHack Summer 2012. After that, he moved to Team Shakira where he spent several months. Later there was DD.Dota.
As a DD.Dota player, he got to the wild-card tournament to The International 2013 but he was unable to make it to the main stage of the tournament. Later DD.Dota was renamed as Quantic. In October 2013, Sébastien became a member of Sigma.int.
With Sigma.int, the esportsman took third place at StarLadder StarSeries Season 8 and then moved to Alliance. There the gamer spent five months, from March till August 2015. As an Alliance representative, he took second place at joinDOTA <LG Pro League Season 2. Later Ceb played for Monkey Freedom Fighters and Kaipi. Those teams were not successful for the gamer and in May 2016, he joined OG as a coach.
Coaching
Oddly enough, this was coaching that became a crucial moment in Ceb’s career. He helped OG to win The Manila Major 2016, ESL One Frankfurt 2016, The Boston Major 2016, The Kiev Major 2017, and also to take 9-12 place at TI 2016 and 7-8 at TI 2017. Moreover, the team took first place at MDL Macau. In June 2018, Ceb was forced to swap coaching with hard line gaming in OG.
OG Gamer
Moving to OG, Ceb demonstrated a high level of individual mastery. His experience let him create a unique atmosphere in the team which helped him to make a revolution in the discipline.
In August 2018, OG became the champions at The International 2018 startling many viewers. After that the team took a break but came back in May 2019 and took 5-6 place at MDL Disneyland Paris Major. Ceb along with the team started to prepare for The International 2019.
The training turned out fruitful for the team. In August 2019, Ceb and the team did something truly historic. They became two-time world champions for the first time in Dota history doing it twice in a row with the same roster. In January 2020, Ceb got inactive even though he returned to help the team at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS where the team took second place. In June 2020, Ceb got back to the team on a permanent basis.
Individual Awards
In his rich career, Ceb managed to achieve maximum heights. He is the first two-time champion of The International who helped a team win four major tournaments as a coach. In his career, he earned over 5,505,000 dollars of grabs.
