EPIC CIS League Spring 2021: Entropiq and Natus Vincere refused to participate in the match for 5th place

Shortly after the announcement of the match for the 5th place between NAVI and Entropiq, information appeared from the organizers that this meeting would not take place. The parties to the meeting decided to agree on the cancellation of this match and the division of rating points equally.

Renowned Russian-speaking analyst Alexander 'petr1k' Petrik shared his observations on the current situation with Akuma. Due to the fact that Natus Vincere and Entropiq refused to play matches, Akuma lost the chance to qualify for the second Major tournament.

Petr1k explained the situation as follows:

Due to the fact that the match between NAVI and Entropiq will not take place, and the teams will receive 1,150 PMP points, Entropiq will overtake Akuma in the PMP table by 30 points and receive a direct invite to the next RMR, and Akuma will play in a closed qualifier.

This is in view of the fact that Akuma received -20% of their points due to a forced substitution in the first round of the group stage match against Gambit.

·

But I don’t understand how a match for 5th place can not be played by mutual agreement, if the match for 5th place is a requirement of Valve? And how many points will the teams get then?

Akuma took 3rd place in the championship, however, apparently, this will not help them earn a ticket. The team managed to win the fight against NAVI and Virtus.pro. After some suspicious behavior, the public began to complain about Akuma's dishonest behavior. Later, the organizers reported that they conducted an internal study that showed that Akuma players were not involved in unfair behavior, and the matches were won honestly.

PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which Akuma failed to reach, will take place from June 27 to July 4. The championship will be held online.

As part of the ongoing event, Natus Vincere and Entropiq managed to play four matches each. Both teams won 3 victories and 1 defeat each. This state of affairs makes the meeting more logical.
