Another victory - Gambit Esports became champions of EPIC CIS League Spring 2021
4740The grand final, but not the last match within the EPIC CIS League Spring 2021, has come to an end. In it, Gambit Esports surpassed Virtus.pro and, as expected, turned out to be the winners of the event.
Virtus.pro started their journey in the final match with a 16-9 victory on Train. Gambit Esports were not at a loss in the current situation and brought the game to a draw on Dust 2, losing only 7 rounds to their opponents. The fight continued on Vertigo and it was quite intense and intriguing. The teams played level and the third map ended with a score of 16-14 in favor of Gambit Esports. The final battle of the CIS-teams was held on Overpass. There, Gambit lost two rounds at the beginning, after which they took the game into their own hands and finished the first half with a score of 12-3 in their favor. After switching to the attacking side, Gambit took what they started to the end and Overpass ended with a score of 16-7 in favor of sh1ro and his teammates.
It is noteworthy that initially the teams were supposed to fight in the Bo3 format, but an hour before that, the organizers notified the participants of the meeting that they would have to fight in the match up to three victories.
The last fight within the EPIC CIS League Spring 2021 will take place on May 31 or June 1, which will be announced later. In it, NAVI and Entropiq will fight for fifth place in this tournament, since Valve obliged the teams to fight in this confrontation. If someone does not agree, then they will have to lose all points earned in the championship. This and other interesting unpleasant details that arose during the rating tournaments of this season will be discussed later in a separate article.

With the end of the EPIC CIS League 2021, the position of the CIS teams in the corresponding RMR table has also changed. Surprisingly, Gambit Esports did not top this list even after winning the tournament. Team Spirit with their victory at RMR Rio Major 2020 - CIS secured a bright future for themselves and are still ahead of Gambit, but the distance has been significantly reduced. Spirit and Gambit now share only 180 RMR points.
