Funspark ULTI 2020: BIG beat EG and stayed in the championship
/In the second match of the day, BIG was able to defeat Evil Geniuses with a score of 2: 0, thereby retaining a place in the tournament.
The match didn’t start well for BIG, as the starting advantage on Dust 2 went to Evil Geniuses. However, the "Evil Geniuses", having won the first half and several rounds after the side switching, pressed too tightly, over and over again letting the BIG players into the bombsite. As a result, the attack of the German team was able to close the gap, and then complete what it had begun, recording the final 16:13 on its choice.
However, the beginning of Nuke's map showed that EG was not going to give up easily. The team demonstrated a confident attack, winning 11 rounds before switching sides. It would seem that such an advantage cannot be missed, but “Evil Geniuses” surpassed all expectations, showing a monstrous game in defense. As a result, EG lost countless important gun rounds, giving their choice to the opponent with a score of 13:16.
Tomorrow, April 23rd, BIG will face Complexity in the semi-finals of the lower bracket. The losing team will leave the tournament, having failed to return to the race for the trophy.
