
MOUZ outlast FURIA in a tense series to reach the IEM Chengdu 2025 semifinals
MOUZ defeated FURIA 2:1 (13:2, 11:13, 16:14) in a hard-fought battle at IEM Chengdu 2025, becoming the first team to advance to the semifinals. Despite the loss, KSCERATO stood out as the best player of the series with a consistent performance and a 1.31 rating.
Inferno (2:13 MOUZ)
On their own map pick, MOUZ secured an easy victory. Starting on the T side, they dominated every round and closed the first half 10:2. In the second half, FURIA couldn’t find their footing and fell 2:13.
Overpass (11:13 FURIA)
The Overpass map began under MOUZ’s control. They took an early 5:0 lead before FURIA managed to slow their momentum and finish the half 5:7. Switching sides, FURIA’s defense turned the game around, eventually pulling ahead. MOUZ tied the score 11:11 and had a chance to close the series 2:0, but FURIA held firm and won 13:11.
Train (14:16 MOUZ)
The deciding Train map was a nail-biter. The first half ended evenly at 6:6, with no clear favorite. In the second half, neither team wanted to give up the win, and FURIA managed to push the game into overtime. However, in the extra rounds, MOUZ conceded only two and sealed the map 16:14.
Match MVP
Despite the defeat, FURIA’s KSCERATO was named the MVP of the match, delivering an ADR of 84.3, a Swing of +1.12%, and a 1.31 rating.
Following the loss, FURIA move on to the quarterfinals, while MOUZ become the first semifinalists of the tournament. IEM Chengdu takes place from November 3–9 with a total prize pool of $1,000,000 — $300,000 distributed among teams and another $700,000 allocated to the organizations.
