Vitality defeated The MongolZ 2–0 to win the Group A upper bracket final at IEM Cologne 2025. With this win, Vitality advance directly to the semifinals, while The MongolZ drop to the quarterfinals. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut delivered an MVP-worthy performance with a 1.74 rating across both maps, backed by mezii and ropz in a clean victory.

Map 1 – Mirage (13:5 Vitality)

The MongolZ picked Mirage but couldn’t convert their choice into an advantage. Despite a balanced start at 4:8 in the first half, Vitality shut things down with a dominant CT side. ZywOo led the charge with consistent multikills, while mezii supported with smart rotations and 20 kills of his own.

Map 2 – Inferno (13:8 Vitality)

Inferno was Vitality’s map pick, and they made it count. ZywOo closed the first half at 7:5 with several key anchor plays, including a 4K on banana. Later, flameZ stole the spotlight with a 1v3 clutch and ACE in Round 10. The MongolZ tried to mount a late comeback, but ropz’s crossfire setups on B shut the door.

Vitality now move on to the semifinals of IEM Cologne 2025, while The MongolZ fall to the quarterfinals where they await the winner of G2 vs FURIA. Earlier in the group, Vitality also eliminated G2 and Astralis on their way to the top.
