GamerLegion took down Complexity in Stage 1 of IEM Cologne 2025 (Bo3)
GamerLegion opened their IEM Cologne 2025 run with a 2–0 win over Complexity in the upper bracket round of 16. The European mix closed out Inferno and Nuke with consistent control across both halves. Fredrik "REZ" Sterner was named MVP with 36 kills and a 1.46 rating over two maps. GamerLegion advance to face Virtus.pro in the next round, while Complexity drop to the lower bracket.
Map 1 – Inferno (13:3 GamerLegion)
Complexity picked Inferno but struggled to break through GamerLegion's setups. The first half ended 9–3 in GL's favor, with Tauson winning two separate 1v2 clutches on CT side. A 1v3 post-plant clutch from ztr closed out the map cleanly in the second half. REZ and PR led the scoreboard with high-impact frags and excellent positioning.
Map 2 – Nuke (13:10 GamerLegion)
GamerLegion’s pick was more competitive. The first half ended even at 6–6, but GL gained control late on the CT side. REZ delivered a key 4K on a 2v5 B-site push early on, while Kursy and PR consistently shut down Complexity’s yard and ramp attempts. Despite a few round wins from Grim and Cxzi, Complexity couldn't recover momentum in the second half.
GamerLegion move on to play Virtus.pro in the upper quarter-finals. Complexity will face TYLOO in a lower bracket elimination match. The rest of the opening round continues with matches between FaZe vs BIG, Liquid vs paiN, and Heroic vs NiP.
