Spirit breezed past NiP with donk’s firepower in PGL Astana 2-0 win
May 11, 2025 – Astana, Kazakhstan
Team Spirit made short work of Ninjas in Pyjamas in their Swiss round 2 matchup at PGL Astana, closing the series 2-0 with wins on Train and Dust2. NiP picked Train and gave Spirit a bit of a challenge, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the monster form of Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets, who dominated both maps.
Train | Spirit 16 - 13 NiP |
Dust2 | Spirit 13 - 4 NiP |
Nuke | Not played |
The match started on Train, where Spirit took the map 16-13 in overtime. NiP fought hard through the first half, keeping it close at 7-5, and managed to push the game into extra rounds, but they couldn’t contain donk, who put up 3 insane Deagle headshots in Round 2 and a 4-Glock burst on a bombsite defense in Round 13. After pulling away in OT, Spirit carried the momentum into Dust2.
Map two was pure demolition. Spirit stormed Dust2 with an 11-1 T-side half and finished it 13-4. NiP looked deflated, while donk and sh1ro were in full control. Donk finished the map with a rating of 1.66, while sh1ro was right behind at 1.48.
The third map, Nuke, was never played—Spirit closed it out 2-0 before NiP could recover.
On Train, donk showed up early with a triple Deagle headshot defense in Round 2, locking down site A from multiple angles. In Round 13, he followed up with four Glock kills, including two headshots, holding B site in a fast-paced post-plant scenario.
