9z qualified for IEM Rio 2023

The closed qualifier for IEM Rio 2023 for Latin America has ended. According to the results of two days of competition, the 9z team managed to overcome their opponents and take a ticket to the championship, which will be held in April in Rio de Janeiro. Now the Latin American team will have another opportunity to prove themselves on the TIER-1 stage, returning to Jeunesse Arena after six months.

During the qualifiers, the Latin American team won a victory over O PLANO (2:0), but then lost to Fluxo (0:2) and fell into the lower bracket. However, here 9z managed to beat 00NATION (2:1), and then took revenge on Fluxo (2:1) and qualified for IEM Rio 2023.

Results of the closed qualifier for IEM Rio 2023 for Latin America:

  • 1st place: 9z - ticket to IEM Rio 2023
  • 2nd place: Fluxo
  • 3rd place: 00NATION
  • 4th place: O PLANO

The last participant of the competition will be determined within a few hours. The teams MIBR and Complexity Gaming are fighting for the victory in the closed qualifier for North America.

IEM Rio 2023 will take place April 17-23 in Rio de Janeiro at the Jeunesse Arena. As part of the championship, sixteen participants from the CIS, Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia will compete for a total prize pool of $250,000, as well as a ticket to IEM Cologne 2023 for the winner.
