Heroic upsets BIG and advances to BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2023
The Heroic team turned out to be stronger than BIG with a score of 2:1, thanks to which they qualified for BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023. According to the results of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023, the Danish team took 4-6th place, earning a ticket to the upcoming championship in Washington, as well as receiving $17,500 and 1,200 points. In turn, the BIG team goes to the Spring Showdown 2023, where they will compete for one slot at the Spring Finals 2023.
The penultimate confrontation of the championship started on the Vertigo map, which became the choice of the German team. However, the meeting began with the total dominance of Heroic players, who closed the defense side with a crushing advantage and left no chance for the opponent — 13:2. After the side switch, BIG failed to return to the server, while the Danes confidently finished what they started and took the lead in the series — 16:3.
The teams then moved on to Ancient, which turned out to be Heroic's choice. Here everything was in favor of the German team, but towards the end of the first half, Xizt's wards were able to equalize the situation and reduce the gap to one round - 8:7. It looked like Heroic would take control of the game and end the streak quickly. But here the BIG players managed to take the center of the map in order to take the initiative into their own hands and quite unexpectedly equalize the score in the series — 16:12.
Everything was decided on the map Inferno, where the Danish team began to correct their position. In turn, BIG was extremely unlucky for defense, which resulted in a devastating result - 12:3. After switching sides, Heroic managed to win the pistol series, thus burying any chances for a comeback and knocking BIG out of the championship — 16:10.
