The teams BIG and Evil Geniuses got their first wins at IEM Rio Major 2022. In the first round of the competition, they managed to beat FURIA (19:16) and IHC Esports (16:9), respectively. In turn, the teams FURIA and IHC Esports will prepare for the matches in the lower basket of the second round.

BIG-FURIA

Another confrontation within the first round took place on the Vertigo map. At the same time, at the start of the match, the German team did not succeed, because they did not come up with any attack. At the same time, FURIA went ahead, thus gaining an excellent advantage - 12:3. After the change of sides, the Brazilians continued to keep the initiative in their hands. But here there was a coup, which, with a handout from BIG, turned 180 degrees and allowed the team to reach the overtime. As a result, the German team managed to put the squeeze on the "owners" of the site, and at the same time get the first victory in the tournament - 19:16.

Evil Geniuses - IHC Esports

A nominally parallel meeting took place on the Nuke map. At the same time, the Mongolian team quickly and unexpectedly seized the initiative by taking all rounds in attack. Fortunately, the "Evil Geniuses" woke up here, who were able to get used to the scene and figured out a number of important rounds for a minimal victory in the half - 8:7. After switching sides, neaLaN took several important rounds for his team, thus killing the chances of IHC Esports. As a result, Evil Geniuses crushed the opponent and got the victory at the start of the championship — 16:9.
