Eternal Fire beats Movistar Riders in ESL Pro League Season 16

The Eternal Fire team turned out to be stronger than Movistar Riders with a score of 2:0 in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 16. Thanks to this victory, the Turkish team remained in the fight for the playoffs. However, for this it is necessary to wait for the results of parallel matches. In turn, Movistar Riders are relegated from the championship, having suffered five defeats.

The duel between Eternal Fire and Movistar Riders started on the Vertigo map, which became the choice of the Turkish team. But if the first half was held in an equal fight, then after the change of sides, the Spaniards disappeared somewhere from the server. As a result, Eternal Fire showed excellent defense, thanks to which it took the lead in the series — 16:9.

Next, the teams moved to the Overpass map, which became the choice of Movistar Riders. However, the Spanish team clearly overestimated its capabilities in the attack, where they took only three rounds and actually signed their defeat - 12:3. Well, after switching sides, Eternal Fire immediately took the initiative under its control, thus obtaining the final victory in the series — 16:5.

To reach the playoffs of the championship, the Turkish team needs Cloud9 and FURIA to win over Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses, respectively.

ESL Pro League Season 16 runs from August 31st to October 2nd in Malta at the Salini Resort. 24 teams from Europe, CIS, North and South America compete for a total prize pool of $835,000.
