Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 Preview

Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 will start in a few hours. As part of the championship, which will last until June 11 in the Swedish city of Lund, eight teams from Europe, North and South America will compete for a prize pool of $250,000. We offer you to get acquainted with the format of the tournament, participants, schedule and distribution of the prize fund of the tournament.

Format of the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022

The championship will be held in two stages:

  • Group stage (June 8-9).
  • Playoffs (June 10-11).

The organizers made a draw for the group stage in advance, dividing eight participants into two groups (four teams in each).

Group A:

  • Heroic, BIG, MIBR and fnatic.

Group B:

  • Astralis, Evil Geniuses PA, Team Finest and Imperial Esports.

The North American esports organization Evil Geniuses has unveiled the roster that will represent the tag at the upcoming Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022. The club's management entrusted the right to play at the international tournament in Lund to the former Party Astronauts roster, which will start its journey under the name EG.PA.

The opening matches of the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 group stage will be held in BO1 format. All the rest are in BO3 format. The winners of each group will advance to the upper bracket final. In turn, the teams that take second places in their quartets will advance to the first round of the lower bracket.

Prize pool breakdown for the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022

  • 1st place: $150,000.
  • 2nd place: $50,000
  • 3rd place: $35,000
  • 4th place: $15,000
  • 5th-6th place: TBD.
  • 7th-8th place: TBD.

The Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 will be the culmination of over two years of events supported by Pinnacle in partnership with GRID Esports. The tournament will be held from 8 to 11 June in the Swedish city of Lund. The venue for the event will be the Sparbanken Skåne Arena, while participants will compete for a combined prize pool of $250,000.
