What did we see in FLASHPOINT Season 1 Phase 1?

Group A

In this quartet, the entire four were at approximately the same game level, and then we can’t say about any justified or unjustified expectations, except for MAD Lions . The Danes have recently performed in many LAN finals and have consistently occupied 3-4 places in tournaments. After another unsatisfactory performance, the captain in the person of HUNDEN left the team, and he was replaced by AcilioN. We could not make any bold assumptions about this team, and then their performance as a whole pleased us. Recall that it was MAD Lions that became the winners in Group A and reached the next stage in the upper seeding.

Group B

Here the end result came out pretty predictable. The winner in the quartet was the most titled and experienced participant in the person of MiBR. In the first confrontation with the Chaos Esports Club, the Brazilians were defeated, but in the final they were able to safely take the rematch, having beaten along the way Team Envy and Gen.G Esports with a score of 2-0. The last match also did not become easy for MiBR and the Brazilians were defeated in one map, but in the end they will now go to the second stage in the upper seeding, and this will give them a significant advantage in the future path in the league.

Group C

This quartet has become perhaps the most unpredictable in terms of results and the most stressful. A significant part of the audience, and in particular those who have been watching CS: GO for a long time, have chosen Dignitas as their favorite. And this is not strange, since four Swedes are now playing in the ranks of Dignitas, who made history on the professional stage under the NiP tag, starting in 2013. Dignitas beat Orgless with a score of 2-1, after which they were defeated in the fight against Cloud9 and went down to the bottom bracket. There, their opponents from Orgless were able to take a rematch from the Swedes and reached the final, and Dignitas thus took 3rd place in Group C. The winners were Cloud9, who defeated FunPlus Phoenix , Dignitas and Orgless.

Another interesting event in Group C was the technical defeat of FunPlus Phoenix. The situation is very interesting. The eSports club bought the Danish roster Heroic in order to join CS: GO and buy a slot for $ 2,000,000 in FLASHPOINT Season 1, and due to problems with its roster, the team suffered a technical defeat in the first match and never played in league. Astralis was bought from Heroic es3tag right in preparation for the upcoming matches and due to the lack of one person in the roster, they were awarded a technical victory. That this is not the best way to start your journey in CS: GO, many viewers will agree. However, this case attracted some attention.
