Esports news Chaos
In brief:
Chaos Esports Club is an American multigaming organization, which was founded by the co-creator of DotaCinema «SUNSfan». Previously, the club was known as the tag Digital Chaos, however, it was rebranded in 2018.
We present to your attention the history of the CSGO branch.
The first appearance and the first results
The intentions of Chaos Esports Club (further mentioned as Chaos) to enter the professional CSGO were noticed in 2018. That year, Chaos created the first roster after the rebranding, which included:
- Maikelele
- pyth
- pronax
- jayzaR
- bENNY
The performance at GG.BET Majestic: European Qualifier was the first challenge for pretty famous players. The team held the 5th-6th place there, which can’t be called a success.
The team placed 13th-16th at Thunderpick Invitational #2 later, which was also a very unsatisfying result. The participation in the open qualifiers to Europe Minor Championship – London 2018 was the last straw, the team held the 17th-32nd place there.
It was obvious that such performances were far from the expectations in the minds of the club management, so the first changes happened in the roster a month after the signing. Initially, jayzaR left the team and he was followed by pyth and benny later. Their slots were taken by FREDDyFROG, Relaxa, and PlesseN.
With the updated roster, the team continued futile attempts to make it to big tournaments. The team failed at EPICENTER 2018 – Wild Card: European Open Qualifier, held the 9th-16th place in the qualifiers to DreamHack Open Atlanta 2018, the 3rd-4th place in the qualifiers to Europe Minor Championship, the 17th-32nd place at Europe Minor Championship – Katowice 2019: Open Qualifier.
Maikelele and Pronax parted ways with the roster at the end of the year.
The season of 2019
Chaos began the new season with the renewed roster. The following players were playing on the roster:
- FREDDyFROG
- Relaxa
- PresseN
- minio
- djL
The team placed 5th-8th at Pixel.bet Brawl: Nordic vs. Europe, 2nd at Hunt Wave League, 3rd-4th at LOOT.BET Hotshot Series Season 1. Also, the team passed the qualifiers to LOOT.BET/CS Season 1.
After that, the team stopped in 3rd place at OGA Counter PIT Season 2. Later, there were three attempts to advance to ECS Season 7 through open qualifiers but only the third try was successful. The team made it to the Challenger Cup stage where they failed, having held the 12th-14th place.
After another failure at the titled tournament, Chaos placed 17th at ESEA Season 30: Premier Division – Europe, 3rd-4th in the qualifiers to DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019: European Open Qualifier, 17th-32nd at DreamHack Open Tours 2019: European Open Qualifier.
The agony was not over at the above-mentioned tournaments. Chaos lost the qualifiers to Copenhagen Games 2019, held the 5th-8th place in the qualifiers to DreamHack Open Summer 2019, and the 7th-8th place in the qualification to ESL One: Cologne 2019.
Also, there were the 3rd-4th places in two open qualifiers to Europe Minor Championship – Berlin 2019 at once.
The lumen emerged in July: Chaos achieved victory in the third season of OGA Counter PIT and also placed 4th at UCC Summer Smash. It seemed that the team finally found its play, however, the team failed another qualification later, after which it was disbanded.
The new roster was revealed in November 2019 and it included the players of the team Ben’s Anime Team: cam, steel, infinite, ben1337, and wippie. By the end of 2019, the team held the 7th-8th place at DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019, prevailed at WESG 2019 NA, and passed the open qualifiers to Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship.
The period of reshuffles and the online season
In 2020, Chaos was not just playing regularly at various tournaments but experimented with rosters constantly.
Infinite was benched at the beginning of the year and his spot was taken by smooya. Literally, wippie left the team in a few weeks, vanity was invited to hold his slot.
Ben1337 was replaced too, whose spot was held by SicK. The recently-arrived smooya parted ways with the team in March.
Regular reshuffles continued till September 2020 but they did not stop the team from participating in championships and they even did it well from time to time.
Chaos held the 7th-8th place at Flashpoint Season 1, achieved victory at ESEA Season 34: Premier Division – NA, placed 1st at WINNERS League – Season 4: NA Invite Division, won Mythic Invite League Season 1, Mythic Summer Cup #3, held the 3rd-4th place at DreamHack Open Summer 2020: NA, and prevailed at Funspark ULTI 2020 – NA.
The team prevailed at ESEA Cash Cup – North America: Autumn 2020 #1 in October and also achieved victories at the two biggest online tournaments of the year in North America – Intel Extreme Masters XV – Beijing Online and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020.
However, positive results in 2020 did not influence the future of Chaos. The organization announced the departure from the competitive CSGO at the beginning of 2021.
