The general information
FLASHPOINT is a new CS:GO league by FACEIT. It will have a franchise system, which is scheduled on March 2020. Los Angeles, the USA will be a venue for the event . Due to FACEIT will focus its attention and resources on FLASHPOINT, another large championship, Esports Championships Series will be canceled.
Participants
The first six participants of the league are Cloud9, Gen.G, Dignitas, MIBR, MAD Lions, and c0nnect (previously known as CR4ZY). The fact that they will be playing at FLASTPOINT excludes the possibility of participation in the parallel league ESL Pro League Season 11. An opportunity to take part in FLASHPOINT can be received in two ways. Ten clubs have used the first, six of which are known. It’s a simple purchase of an access to the league. The pass costs $2,000,000, according to an unconfirmed information, and besides the participation in FLASHPOINT, it provides clubs with the right to distribute a part of the league’s revenue among themselves. This opportunity is received by both managements of clubs and players who take part in matches. The second way to receive the right to participate in the league is to win the qualifiers by FACEIT, which will be hosted in a few stages. It will be carried out in three divisions: North America, South America, and Europe. On the outcome of open and closed qualifiers, the best teams will advance to the LAN qualification, which will take place in Los Angeles. There, two teams, which perform the best, will receive the desired invitations to the FACEIT league.
The forming of groups
Three quartets will be formed in a pretty unusual way. The commission CSPPA will choose three strongest participants of the league and divide them into three different groups. They will receive the right to choose one opponent for them in the group. Teams, which have been chosen by the strongest participants, in turn, will make their choice of opponents and it will last until all three groups will not be fully completed. Teams, which will be considered to be the weakest in their quartets, so the teams, which will be chosen the last, will receive a handicap, which will allow them to make their way to success easier. The above-mentioned rosters will be able to make one change in their groups and send one of the participants to another four.
The format
The group stage will be hosted in a regular double-elimination bracket. After the end of the first series of matches, the teams, which will perform with the best score, will be able to choose the next opponent in the second match series. After the end of the second series of matches, conclusions will be made and teams will earn some points, which will be related to their success. Those who perform the best will earn 75 points. The silver participants will receive 50 points, while the bronze teams will take 30 rating points on their score. The teams to hold the last places in groups will receive 25 points and will be eliminated from the competition. The rest eight teams will advance to the playoffs where will continue their way.
Teams will be playing in a double-elimination bracket in the final stage and all matches will be hosted in a bo3 format.
